Highlights: Fulham 0-3 Arsenal

By on 12th September 2020

Alexandre Lacazette scored the first goal of the 2020-21 English Premier League campaign as Arsenal raced to comfortable 3-0 win away to Fulham.

The French striker tapped home from close range after Marek Rodak attempted to steal the ball from Willian’s feet.

Willian wasn’t credited with an assist for the opener but there’s no doubt he did for the second as his corner picked out fellow debutant Gabriel Magalhaes in the middle of the six-yard box to head the Gunners into a 2-0 lead shortly after the restart.

The 32-year-old free transfer from Chelsea then chipped a ball over the top to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang down the left. The Gabon attacker did the rest, cutting inside and firing across goal into the top corner to make it 3-0.

Fulham created next-to-nothing with Aleksandar Mitrovic only entering the field at 0-3.

Arsenal host West Ham United next weekend before going on a very tough run of games up to the end of October, that will give us a much better idea of where they’re at following Arteta’s appointment in December and with a few new faces arriving this summer.
