Highlights: Barcelona 2-0 Getafe
Barcelona bounced back from their shock Champions League exit at the hands of Liverpool on Tuesday night to beat Getafe 2-0 Camp Nou in their penultimate 2018-19 La Liga games on Sunday.
The result sees the Madrid minnows drop out of the top four and Champions League places as Valencia were 3-1 winners over Alaves on Sunday afternoon.
Arturo Vidal put the hosts ahead from close range, five minutes before half-time in a strong lineup named by Ernesto Valverde.
An own goal from Getafe’s Djene Dakonam in the final minutes sealed a further three points for the 2018-19 La Liga champions. Getafe will need to better Valencia’s result on the final day to claim the fourth and final Champions League spot.
Barcelona travel to Eibar in their final league game of the season next Sunday before facing Valencia in the Copa del Rey final on Saturday 25 May.
