Highlights: Sevilla 3-2 Real Betis
Sevilla came out 3-2 winners over Real Betis in a thrilling Seville derby on Saturday night.
Munir el Haddadi had headed the hosts into a 26th minute lead from Pablo Sarabia’s cross as the hosts went into the break with a 1-0 lead.
Midfielder Giovani lo Celso swept Betis level 10 minutes into the second half before Sarabia volleyed Sevilla back in front from Wissam Ben Yedder’s cross four minutes later.
Franco Vazquez smashed in a brilliant 25-yard effort just after the hour as Joaquin Caparros’ side appeared to be cruising to victory. However, Cristian Tello curled home a wonderful free-kick for Betis to set up a tense finale.
Sevilla held on to move back into the Champions League places in Spain’s La Liga – two points ahead of Getafe who are at struggling Real Valladolid on Sunday.
There were nine bookings in a hard-fought Andalusian derby, with six of them shown to Sevilla players.
