Highlights: Eintracht Frankfurt 1-1 Chelsea

English Premier League side Chelsea scored an away goal in their 1-1 draw at Eintracht Frankfurt in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final tie.
Maurizio Sarri’s side had been made favourites to win the tournament for the second time since 2014 heading to their trip to Germany on Thursday night.
It was the Eagles who took a deserved lead midway through the first half through a nice finish from striker Luka Jovic. It was the 21-year-old’s ninth goal in the competition this season to go along with his 17 in the German Bundesliga.
Eden Hazard had been left out of Chelsea’s starting lineup with the manager stating that the Belgian superstar needed a rest after a busy run of games that saw him start the previous 10. In his place Pedro started and the Spaniard equalised on the stroke of half-time after Ruben Loftus-Cheek laid the ball off to him after the Frankfurt defence conceded possession inside their own penalty area.
Loftus-Cheek went close to scoring twice himself as Chelsea looked to take a bigger advantage back to Stamford Bridge with them next week. They’ll be confident they can get the job done in West London with their away goal scored this evening.
