Highlights: PSG 1-0 Metz

Julian Draxler was the hero for nine man Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night by scoring a 93rd minute winner to finally get Thomas Tuchel’s side up and running this season.
The defending champions had previously been beaten 0-1 by both RC Lens and Marseille to start their 2020-21 campaign and this game was playing catchup after their appearance in the Champions League final last month led to a late start.
PSG were without the suspended Neymar, Leandro Paredes and Layvin Kurzawa following their dismissals at the end of Sunday’s game, whilst Kylian Mbappe, Marco Verratti and Thilo Kehrer all missed out through injury.
The visitors themselves had also suffered back-to-back 0-1 defeats to start the new campaign.
Tuchel’s side dominated the game at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday night but did not make the breakthrough until stoppage time when German international
Angel Di Maria had an effort cleared off the line in the first half and Mauro Icardi failed to end his long goal drought by firing straight at Alexandre Oukidja from six yards.
PSG Abdou Diallo became the 21st player sent off in only 29 Ligue 1 matches this season when the centre-back received a second yellow just after the hour before Juan Bernat went off injured after the head coach had already made his substitutes.
Draxler came up with the goals rebounding home into an empty net after Di Maria’s cross could only be pushed into the attacker’s path by the Metz goalkeeper.
