Highlights: Chelsea 0-3 Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich maintained their 100% winning record in this season’s UEFA Champions League with a comfortable 3-0 thrashing of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the first leg of their second round tie on Tuesday evening.
Serge Gnabry scored a brace in the opening 10 minutes of the second half, taking his tally up to six in London on the season, having scored four during Bayern Munich’s 7-2 thrashing of Tottenham Hotspur back in October.
Both of Gnabry’s goals were setup by Robert Lewandowski, whom completed the route 15 minutes from time with a close range tap in. The Polish striker’s goal was setup by a superb assist from Alphonso Davies, who dribbled past two Chelsea players to create himself space down the left wing.
Marcos Alonso was sent off late for Frank Lampard’s side. The Spaniard will be joined by Jorginho on the suspension list for the second leg at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday 18 March.
