Leicester City recorded their first win of the season by beating Sheffield United 2-1 at Bramall Lane.

Brendan Rodgers’ side had started the season with a 0-0 draw at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers followed up with a 1-1 draw at Chelsea.

Foxes midfielder James Maddison saw a 30-yard free kick narrowly roll wide of Dean Henderson’s goal with the goalkeeper beaten. The midfielder produced a wonderful through ball with the outside of his boot to play Jamie Vardy in for the visitors’ opener. Maddison had collected the ball from a loose pass on the halfway line before releasing Vardy with his second touch.

Substitute Oli McBurnie equalised for the Blades just after the hour when he headed home George Baldock’s cross into the far corner from six yards out.

Eight minutes Harvey Barnes smashed home a stunning 16-yard half volley. The chance was setup by teammate Caglar Soycuncu, who headed a cross towards the edge of the area from a cross.
