Highlights: Wolves 1-1 Man Utd

By on 19th August 2019

Manchester United improved on last season’s performance at Molineux with a 1-1 draw on Monday night, but it could have been more.

The Red Devils took a first half lead through Anthony Martial with a first-time finish having been played in by Marcus Rashford.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were on top in the first half, not allowing the hosts to test David de Gea in the Manchester United goal.

However, 10 minutes into the second half, Ruben Neves struck an unstoppable 25-yard strike in off the crossbar to level the score.

United had the opportunity to go back in front midway through the second half when Paul Pogba won a penalty. However, the French international saw his effort comfortably saved by Rui Patricio.

Neither side created too much in the final stages of the game as Wolves start their 2019-20 Premier League campaign with back-to-back draws. Manchester United are on four points from their first two games and host Crystal Palace next weekend.
