Highlights: Heracles 0-2 PSV

By on 19th August 2019

PSV Eindhoven were comfortable 2-0 winners away to Heracles Almelo on Sunday to keep pace with Ajax at the top of the Dutch Eredivisie.

Steven Bergwijn scored his first goal of the campaign with a 25-yard strike into the bottom corner as the home side’s defence backed off.

The visitors were never too seriously tested defensively and sealed the three points just before the hour when 17-year-old Mohammed Ihattaren scuffed a 16-yard effort into Janis Blaswich’s far corner.

Mark van Bommel will have been pleased to see his team keep a clean sheet for the first time this season after a below par month that has seen them been eliminated from this season’s Champions League at the qualifying stage.

PSV are level on points with Ajax at the top of the table, with Erik ten Hag’s side comfortable 4-1 winners away to VVV-Venlo on Saturday.
