Ajax produced another comfortable victory in the Dutch Eredivisie on Saturday as they were 4-1 winners at De Koel away to VVV-Venlo.

However, it was not until the 44th minute that the defending champions took the lead. Hakim Ziyech coolly placed an effort from 20 yards into the bottom corner but produced a rather muted situation. The Moroccan international has been hoping to force a transfer away from Amsterdam this summer.

Dusan Tadic doubled Ajax’s lead four minutes after the break from the penalty spot before substitute Klaas-Jan Huntelaar tapped home from close range midway through the second half.

The visitors went 4-0 ahead in the final 15 minutes when David Neres’ low effort caught Thorsten Kirschbaum out and made its away into the net.

In the 89th minute Ajax conceded their third goal of the season when Evert Linthorst found the bottom corner from just inside the penalty area to finish off a nice passing move from the hosts.
