New Brighton & Hove Albion manager Graham Potter made a dream start to his Premier League career with an emphatic 3-0 win away to Watford on Saturday.
Many football fans and pundits had been surprised by the dismissal of Chris Hughton at the end of last season but Brighton fans won’t mind if their team produce performances like they did at Vicarage Road more often.
The Seagulls took a 28th minute lead through an Abdoulaye Doucoure own goal but were deserving of their three points against a below par Watford side. Substitute Florin Andone doubled the visitors’ lead just moments after entering the field.
Minutes later, big summer signing Neal Maupay had entered the field and scored on his Brighton debut following his £20 million move from Brentford earlier in the summer.
FA Cup finalists Watford had ended last season in poor form before they were thumped 6-0 at Wembley Stadium by Manchester City back in May, have it all to do after a crushing defeat to start the new season.
