Rangers won the Glasgow derby 2-0 at Ibrox against Celtic on Sunday.

It was the first time in seven years that the Gers had beaten their rivals in back-to-back home games.

Steven Gerrard’s side produced a dominant and determined performances against the 2018-19 Scottish Premiership champions at lunchtime with the visitors perhaps having their mind set on the Scottish Cup final and potential domestic treble later this month.

Rangers were ahead inside two minutes when¬†James Tavernier’s free-kick deceived Celtic goalkeeper Scott Bain. They were fortunate to see Jon Flanagan receive only a yellow card for an elbow in the face of Scott Brown.

The hosts doubled their lead just after the hour when Scott Afield finished off a flowing move. Three points leaves Rangers six points behind the champions with just a single game to play. They already had the runners-up spot wrapped up too.
