Highlights: Valencia 2-4 Arsenal

Arsenal booked their safe passage into the 2018-19 Europa League final with a 4-2 win away to Valencia in the second leg of their semi-final on Thursday night, beating the La Liga side 7-3 on aggregate.

Unai Emery’s side had a 3-1 advantage from last week’s first leg at the Emirates but fell behind after only 11 minutes when Kevin Gameiro tapped home into an unguarded net following a deflected cross.

The Spanish side had dominated possession and territory in the early stages but were pegged back only six minutes after taking the lead through a stunning 20-yard effort from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Alexandre Lacazette’s effort into the bottom corner five minutes into the second half gave Arsenal a second away goal and effectively end the tie there and then. Gameiro did equalise on the night for the hosts, shortly before the hour, but two more strikes from Aubameyang made the scoreline emphatic for the English Premier League side.
