Highlights: FC Porto 1-0 Santa Clara
FC Porto went back to the top of the Portuguese Primeira Liga with a narrow 1-0 win over Santa Clara at the Estadio do Dragao on Saturday evening.
The visitors nearly took a surprise lead inside nine minutes but for FC Porto being saved by the offside flag.
Moussa Marega scored the only goal of the game, coming in the 18th minute, tapping into an empty net after Otavio’s initial effort was parried back into the Mali international’s path.
Santa Clara fired wide midway through the first half before having a second goal chalked off five minutes before half-time, again, ruled out by the referee’s assistant’s flag.
Iker Casillas made an excellent one-handed save just before the hour before the hosts squandered a good opportunity in the 67th minute when Jesus Corona fired a good opportunity over the crossbar.
The hosts held on to take a three point lead over Benfica, who play their game in hand on Monday night at home to Maritimo.
