Champions League semi-finalists Barcelona are three points closer to the 2018-19 La Liga title with a 2-1 win at home to Real Sociedad on Saturday.
Clement Lenglet headed the Catalans in front on the stroke of half-time from an Ousmane Dembele inswinging corner.
Real Sociedad grabbed a deserved equaliser just after the hour mark when an excellently timed run and slide from Juanmi poked the ball past Marc-Andre ter Stegen in the Barcelona goal, following a superb through ball from Mikel Merino.
Despite an excellent front three in the starting lineup for Barcelona it would be left-back Jordi Alba who struck home the winner just two minutes after they were pegged back, with an excellent right-footed strike from 17 yards.
Ernesto Valverde fielded a strong side for the weekend’s game after their 3-0 win against Manchester United in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Barcelona are now nine points ahead of Atletico Madrid with only five games to go.
