Highlights: Liverpool 2-0 FC Porto

By on 9th April 2019

Liverpool have one foot in the final four of this season’s Champions League following a convincing 2-0 win over FC Porto in the first leg of their quarter-final at Anfield on Tuesday.

Naby Keita opened the scoring after only five minutes before Roberto Firmino doubled the Reds’ lead 20 minutes later.

Jurgen Klopp will be disappointed not to have added further goals to the score against what many consider to be the weakest side left in this season’s competition.

Last season’s runners-up are back in Premier League action on Sunday when they host Chelsea but would have liked a more convincing scoreline against the Portuguese giants. Klopp may be forced to play a stronger side than he was hoping for in the return leg at the Estadio do Dragao next Wednesday.

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah even escaped a red card for a dangerous tackle on Danilo late on – a decision that survived a VAR review.
