Paris Saint-Germain will end February with a 17-point lead over second-place Lille following their comfortable 3-0 win at home to Nimes on Saturday. This makes it four successive league wins following their surprise loss at Lyon to start the month.

Christopher Nkunku scored from Marco Verratti’s pass over the top to finally put the champions ahead five minutes before half-time. Thomas Tuchel’s side saw 71% of the possession throughout the game, producing 21 shots to the visitors’ eight.

French international Kylian Mbappe passed the 50 Ligue 1goal mark with a brace after half-time, with his first coming in the 69th minute, prodding home Juan Bernat’s cross. The youngster added his second two minutes from time on a counter-attack following a Nimes corner. The 2018 World Cup winner is the French Ligue 1 top scorer with 22 goals in 20 games, and he has scored 27 in 31 matches in all competitions.

PSG are in French Cup action at home to Dijon on Tuesday 26 February.
