Highlights: St Etienne 0-1 PSG
Paris Saint-Germain returned from England to scrape past Saint-Etienne in a 1-0 win at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard to move 12 points clear at the top of Ligue 1 on Sunday.
Thomas Tuchel’s side were 2-0 winners at Old Trafford against English Premier League giants Manchester United in the first leg of their Champions League second round tie on Tuesday.
The Parisians didn’t have it all their own way at St Etienne on Sunday, but in a game of few chances Kylian Mbappe produced the moment of magic in the final 20 minutes to move PSG further clear at the top.
Mbappe finished superbly from Dani Alves’ pass to take his league tally up to 19 goals for the season.
Kevin Monnet-Paquet fired over the bar in the dying stages for the hosts as Paris Saint-Germain held on.
Second-placed Lille lost further ground on the league leaders earlier in the day as they were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Montpellier. PSG also have two games in hand on their closest rivals.
