Highlights: PSG 1-0 Nantes
Paris Saint-Germain head into the winter break with a 13-point lead at the top of the French Ligue 1 following their 1-0 win over Nantes on Saturday.
Kylian Mbappe grabbed the game’s only goal when he netted from close range in the 68th minute. It was one of the few shots on target from either side all game. The 2018 World Cup winner has now netted 13 goals in 12 league games this season and only turned 20 on Thursday.
Thomas Tuchel’s side were without Neymar, who returned to his homeland to help him record from a groin injury that the Brazilian has been playing through recently. The German coach played with a back three – Marquinhos, Thiago Silva and Presnel Kimpembe, whilst Thomas Meunier and Juan Bernat played as wing-backs. Julian Draxler and Angel Di Maria supported Edinson Cavani and Mbappe in attack.
Second-placed Lille were beaten 2-1 at home to Toulouse and have played two more games than the leaders.
