Paris Saint-Germain maintained their winning start to the 2018-19 Ligue 1 season with a 12th successive victory as they beat Lille 2-1 at the Parc des Princes on Friday night.
It wasn’t until the 70th minute until the runaway league leaders opened the scoring against their closest challengers. Kylian Mbappe curled a 25-yard effort past Mike Maignan – the 19-year-old’s 13th goal in 11 league games this season.
Neymar added a second with a deflected shot six minutes from time before Nicolas Pepe scored an injury-time penalty for the visitors.
Defending champions PSG are now 11 points above second-placed Lille at the top of the table. They are looking to win the French league for a second consecutive season and what would be their sixth title in seven years.
Arugably more importantly for Thomas Tuchel is that the Parisians travel to Napoli in a crucial Champions League group stage game on Tuesday night.
