Paris Saint-Germain were 2-0 winners in Le Classique at Marseille on Sunday to extend their winning start to the 2018-19 French Ligue 1 campaign to a record 11 games.
Kylian Mbappe showed his lightning pace for the first goal to get onto an Angel Di Maria pass before slotting past Boubacar Kamara in the Marseille goal after 65 minutes. The teenager now has 12 goals in 10 games this season, including the Champions League. He was a second half substitute for Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting at the Stade Velodrome this weekend.
As the home side pushed for an equaliser, Julian Draxler scored in the fifth minute of stoppage time from Neymar’s off-target shot.
The Brazilian superstar also had objects thrown at him from the home fans on several occasions as he tried to take corners earlier in the second half.
Defending champions PSG are already eight points clear of second-placed Lille.
