Highlights: PSG 5-0 Amiens
Paris Saint-Germain made it 30 points from a possible 30 in Ligue 1 this season with a 5-0 thrashing of Amiens at the Parc des Princes on Saturday.
Marquinhos headed the defending champions in front from an Angel Di Maria corner in the 12th minute as Thomas Tuchel named a strong squad for the weekend’s game prior to facing Napoli in the Champions League this Wednesday. Though Neymar, Thiago Silva and Thomas Meunier were all given a rest.
Three minutes before the break, Adrien Rabiot headed home PSG’s second, this one also from a Di Maria corner.
Julian Draxler made it 3-0 10 minutes before time with a headed goal of his own before 19-year-old Kylian Mbappe scored his 11th goal of the season with a fine finish into the near corner despite two defenders marking him.
Fellow teenager Moussa Diaby made it 5-0 shortly before full-time. Paris Saint-Germain have now scored a phenomenal 37 goals in only 10 league games this season – matched only by the St Etienne side of 1069-70 who went on to win the title. PSG are currently eight points clear of second-place Lille.
The French champions have it all to do in the Champions League though as they have only collected three points from their opening two matches and have back-to-back games against Napoli, starting with Wednesday’s game in Paris.
