By on 1st October 2018

Paris Saint-Germain made it eight wins from eight as they have opened up a nine point lead over second-place St Etienne in defence of their Ligue 1 title.

Nice could only hold out for the first 21 minutes despite playing a back five as Neymar opened the scoring midway through the first half as PSG went in 1-0 up at half-time on Saturday, curling an effort into the bottom corner from outside the penalty area.

Youngster Christopher Nkunku doubled the visitors’ lead in the opening 60 seconds of the second half before Nice were reduced to 10 men on the hour mark when Wylan Cyprien picked up his second yellow card of the game.

Neymar tapped home his second of the game in the second minute of stoppage time to give Thomas Tuchel’s side a goal difference of +21 after only eight matches this season.

Paris Saint-Germain host Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League midweek, having lost their opener 3-2 at Liverpool less than a fortnight ago.
